Cover: Your achievement card with an invitation QR code

How to create and share a card with your Despendo level or a badge, with no pantry data, and how to add your invitation link as a QR code.

Despendo has levels, a weekly streak and badges for what you achieve: your first days of food, your water, your complete kit. From your Profile you can turn any of those into a card to share, designed to show your progress without showing your home.

What is on the card (and what is not)

It has the Despendo name, the icon and the name of your level or badge and, if you want, your weekly streak. It does not have quantities, location, your name or anything you keep in your pantry. It is the same idea as always: share an achievement, not an inventory.

How to create it

  1. Open your Profile and go to Achievements.
  2. Under Share, choose what to show: your level or a badge you have already earned.
  3. Tick or untick Include my weekly streak.
  4. Press Create card. You can share it from your phone or download it as an image.

The invitation QR code (optional)

There is one more checkbox: Add my invitation link to the message and a QR code to the card. It comes unticked, so no card carries your link unless you decide so.

If you tick it:

  • The message that goes with the image includes your personal Despendo link.
  • The card adds a QR code in the lower-right corner, with the text "Scan and try Despendo free for 7 days".

Whoever scans the code lands on the sign-up page with your invitation code already applied and starts with 7 days of trial, no card.

What you get

If that person ends up paying their first year, your reward is held and, after 30 days (in case of refunds), you receive one free year. The full rules are in the Invite and earn section of your Profile.

Care when sharing

  • The QR contains only your invitation link, not your data. Even so, share it with whoever you want to have it: anyone who scans it will see the Despendo sign-up.
  • If you do not want to use your link, leave it unticked: the card comes out the same, without a QR.
  • If you ever want to invite someone to your pantry, that is a different thing: the family group gives access to your data; the card's invitation only gives access to sign-up.
