Despendo gift coupons: how to redeem them
What a Despendo gift coupon is, where to redeem it, how much time it adds and what rules it has. Step by step, with or without an account.
A Despendo gift coupon is a code that adds subscription time to your account. It works, for example, to give a relative a year of the app without them paying. Here is how it is redeemed and what rules it has.
If you do not have an account yet
There are two ways:
- If you were given a sign-up link with the coupon, open it: the code is already filled in on the form.
- Or go to the sign-up page and type the code into the "Gift coupon (optional)" field.
You create the account as usual and confirm your email. The coupon is applied automatically the first time you open the app, and you will see a notice with the time that was added.
If you already have an account
Open My subscription inside the app. At the bottom you will see the "Have a gift coupon?" box: type the code and press Redeem. If someone sent you an app link with the code, that box opens with the code already in place.
What the coupon does
- It adds time. It can give 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, depending on the coupon.
- If your plan is still active, the time is added to the date it ends. If it had already expired (or you were on the trial), it counts from that moment. You lose nothing.
- Your account becomes active. What you redeemed shows up in the coupon list of your subscription panel.
- A coupon does not count as a payment: it creates no charge and does not trigger the referral program reward.
The rules
- One account cannot redeem the same coupon twice, even if it is a multi-use coupon.
- There are single-use coupons and multi-use coupons. A multi-use coupon can be redeemed by several different accounts, but only until its quota runs out.
- Some coupons have a deadline to be redeemed. After that date they stop working, but what you already redeemed does not expire.
- If you mistype several times in a row, the app asks you to wait a while. It is a safeguard against anyone trying to guess codes.
If you already pay with automatic renewal
You can still redeem a coupon. The app warns you beforehand that the automatic charge is still active: it will happen on its date. If you do not want to pay for that year, cancel the renewal first from My subscription and then redeem. Coupon time is not lost when a renewal is processed: Despendo always keeps the later date.
When the end gets close
If your plan comes from a coupon and you have no paid subscription, it does not renew by itself. We email you 30 days, 7 days and 1 day before it ends, and you can subscribe whenever you like from the same panel.
Where do coupons come from?
For now coupons are issued directly by Despendo, for example for gifts or promotions. If you have one, redeem it with the steps above; if it does not work, the message tells you whether the code expired, ran out or is mistyped.
